Niel serves as one of our stellar Support Desk Technicians, bringing over 13 years of experience to the company. As a support desk technician for OTT, Niel assists with incoming tickets for end users and server management, as well as addressing NOC issues remotely. Prior to working for OTT, Niel worked as a Senior Primary Support Engineer, and comes to us with qualifications in administering SQL Server 2012. He is also Continuum certified, and is currently studying for the MCSE Server Infrastructure 2016 certification, as well as studying Azure AD.
What Niel enjoys most about working the tech industry is the fast pace at which technology moves, and keeping his finger on the pulse. He also enjoys the challenge with regards to infrastructure design and deployment.
When Niel is not working, you can find him cooking for friends and family, or spending lazy days on wine farms. He also enjoys a night out trying new craft beers, hitting the dance floor here and there, and playing a round of pool!
My philosophy when starting OTT was I wanted to create a place that I would want to work at (fun and friendly.) Where there was no corporate politics and we could just do our job fixing things and helping people. We can help people with their technology and not be arrogant or condescending to people. We can actually make a difference in peoples lives and not just say it but do it.
